Kilgen Opus 7722 is another unfortunate case of an organ that has been removed from its original home, and is no longer playable as a complete organ. The organ was originally installed in Trinity Baptist Church, Lake Charles Louisiana and served for many years until its recent removal.
The pipes from this organ have reportedly been re-purposed by First Baptist Church, Lafayette, Louisiana, with the console being retained for use in the Chapel of Saint John Paul the Great Academy, in Lafayette, Louisiana.
The console is currently undergoing MIDI conversion under the expert care of Jay Riedl, and it is soon hopefully to be used in its new home with the digital replacement pipes.
Where possible we strongly support the preservation and protection of pipe organs and do not advocate in any way replacing a pipe organ with a digital organ unless there are no alternatives. In this case, sadly it was unable to preserve the instrument as a whole, however we hope you enjoy the organ we could preserve, albeit digitally.
We are very grateful to Jay Riedl for his assistance and endless patience, especially during the creation of this organ.
24 Bit Stereo and 5.1 surround sound (Studio Quality).
